Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Philomath

In response to the murder of George Floyd, in June 2020 the Philomath City Council formed an ad hoc Inclusivity Committee with an initial assignment to prepare a responsive statement for the community. Since then, the Inclusivity Committee has worked to foster support and growth for DEI initiatives and programs in Philomath. The committee is uniquely structured to include engagement from the greater Philomath community with a focus on consensus that encourages all voices to be heard. This effort has resulted in community programs and events that both highlight Philomath's history and build for a future of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Philomath.
