Citywide Recycling Event

Provided in cooperation with Republic Services, this is your annual opportunity to clear space in your garage and get rid of broken, unwanted recyclable junk. The 2021 date is April 17. Mark your calendars!
 
Industrial dumpsters will be available in the Public Works yard.  The entrance for the event will be located on the end of South 16th Street.  There will be two City employees there to verify that you are a Philomath resident and that you have recyclable items.  Republic Services will assist with unloading your vehicle. Gates will open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 2:00 p.m.
 
ACCEPTED MATERIALS: Untreated wood, scrap metal, yard debris, computer/electronic equipment, cardboard, large/bulky items (mattresses, couches, chairs, patio furniture, plastic pools, etc.) and any other materials not specifically listed below as not acceptable.
 
ACCEPTED WITH NO FEE: Appliances and items containing Freon will be accepted. Examples: Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners.
 
NOT ACCEPTED: Household garbage, car batteries, tires, motor oil, propane tanks, gas cans, and hazardous waste materials such as used paint, insecticides, or cleaning agents. Note: Vehicles with household garbage and/or garbage bags may be turned away.
 
This cleanup opportunity is free for residents who live within the city limits. Please bring proof of residency (utility bill) with you. For questions, call Public Works at 541-929-3579.
