Philomath Parade of Lights
Event Information
The Philomath Parade of Lights was started by the City in 2023 in an effort to bring the community together to celebrate our local businesses and organizations that contribute to making Philomath such a great place to live, work, learn and play.
Parade Route
The parade will exit the High School parking lot and travel west on Applegate Street. It will turn left and travel south on 15th and then turn right and travel west on Cedar Street. From Cedar, floats will either enter the rodeo grounds to disassemble, turn right (north) on 13th Street toward the highway, or turn left (south) on 13th toward Chapel Drive and back to the middle school entrance off Chapel. Floats may not stop to let off passengers until they have entered the rodeo grounds or returned to the middle school parking lot.
Spectators
Spectators are invited to bring chairs and umbrellas and line the streets to watch the parade. Rain or no rain, the parade will go on!
Parade Entries
Businesses and community organizations are invited to register a float entry for the parade. The City is partnering with the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo to organize registrations and the parade lineup. Pre-registration is required this year and must be completed by 4:00 pm the day of the parade. All registration is done online at www.philomathfrolic.org.
To register, you will need your contact information as well as the driver’s license number and insurance information for anyone driving a vehicle. Horse entries are also allowed with appropriate liability insurance. Float check-in will take place from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. the day of the parade at the Middle School’s Chapel Drive entrance. Mayor Jones will select the "Most Lit" entry to receive the Mayor's Choice Award from all entries in place at 6:00 p.m. Be creative and showcase your business or organization with lights, lights and more lights!
